Hello together,
i ve run to many forums and threads and still not finding a solution to this topic, neither have a real point where to start searching for the problem currently.
I am using a Terra Laptop with Arch standalone installation. In my home setup is a kind a dockingstation via USB-C. This goes to a KVM switch to use Desktop an Laptop in the same setup, which is not really importan for the problem in my opinion.
So if i use the dock config, it happens that the laptop isnt charged or supplied via the dock while the system is booted.
100% of this topic appears if i switch the mode in gnome energy panel to power mode. But sometimes in balanced it will also happen.
If the Laptop is switched of it will load via USB-C in any case.
For me, this problem looks much like an issue of controlling the USB_PD. So the port is not using or providing enough power to supply the laptop while working, but supply enough to load while shut down.
I have never installed windows on this laptop so i could not tell if this is working on that. But the dock an laptop are both directly from terra an this dock was recommended by terra to use with this laptop. IMHO it should work properly and is in my case related to any missing lib, kernelmod or config, etc.
To use the dock an multiple screens, i use diplaylink. The dock is supplied seperatly via 230V power supply.
To be honest, i hope for some hints, how to go further on with this, because all what i ve found in this forum or others lead me to a dead end.

what i have forgot to mention, the dock is working well with my company laptop. Its a HP elitebook. So it is charging while booted and does not even got problems at intensive matlab tasks.
