Thunderbolt Stopped Working properly

I am not sure why this is the case, hence posting on the forum. I plug it in a thunderbolt port with a monitor but anything that is attached does not work but the screen. For example, camera does not work, microphone, mouse, etc. Is it possible to be because of a firmware update? from what I see, this is one of the recent updates I have done:

[2025-05-24T08:47:42+0100] [ALPM] upgraded linux-firmware-whence (20250508.788aadc8-1 -> 20250508.788aadc8-2)

Re: Thunderbolt Stopped Working properly

Can you make it work again by downgrading the firmware to the previous version?
But the commit that changed things from pkgrel=1 to 2 should have only changed things for a certain wifi card: https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … 5286034800

Do you have any other upgrades in the meantime, like the kernel maybe? Could you test on linux-lts?

Re: Thunderbolt Stopped Working properly

It seems like I can get to work using the arch wiki. The strange part is that it was working before the update, and then it stopped. This is what my issue was: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Thunde … leshooting

For educational purposes, any reason for this to stop working after an update? Anything that could've triggered a change in this?

Re: Thunderbolt Stopped Working properly

Did you reboot after the upgrade?

Re: Thunderbolt Stopped Working properly

Yes, quite a few times. And selected both the LTS and the normal kernel.

Are you sure that it worked with 20250508.788aadc8-1? I think it maybe rather broken with the upgrade to anything beyond 20250508.788aadc8-1 as the only change -2 is a Wifi fw change

Re: Thunderbolt Stopped Working properly

Honestly, I am not sure what changed ... The firmware was the only one that made sense. I think I'll give up tracking it and just take it as it is smile

Thank you for the help!
