[SOLVED] Unable to get microphone to work!

Hi all! I have pipewire, pipewire-pulse, and wireplumber all set up, and I am using discord (through the chromium browser) to test my audio. Fortunately, I am able to hear people in voice calls, but it seems like my microphone isn't exactly working. Chromium does in fact show that it recognized a microphone as I am able to mute and unmute myself within discord. The issue is that no one can hear me, and discord is showing a "cannot detect input form mic" warning. I have tried a few solutions such as installing sof-firmware and running commands I've seen while searching through past forum posts on this similar topic, but nothing has worked or made any impact. I'm not entirely sure which commands I should run to show the relevent information pertaining to this issue, so I'll just relay some outputs of command I've seen other forum users post.

I should also mention that I tried using discord through firefox and even discord installed from the arch repo, but the issue still stands.

Upon running

pactl list cards

I see

Re: [SOLVED] Unable to get microphone to work!

Guys, I feel rather silly. I had the brilliant idea of searching a bit more through GitHub to see if anyone else happens to have a solution that they placed in their dotfiles or something like that, and lo and behold, I found one that actually worked. In case anyone with an ALC256 audio chip is reading this, what I did to fix my microphone was create a file called

alsa-base.conf

within

/etc/modprobe.d/

then added this line:

options snd-hda-intel model=headset-mode

Now, everything works! Woooooooo
