Hello,
Anyone else getting this error when installing the EA-app?
It happens just after the app installer attempt to "Download stuff":
"The EA app is having trouble getting online. Check your internet connection and try again (error code: INST-14-12157)."
Things that I tried to do:
Check the connection config files:
resolv.conf / 25-wireless.network / 30-mtu.link / main.conf (iwd)
Apparently it's all correct and I have good connection for everything else except for the EA-app and steam store/community.
Check locale, time/ntp settings
I tried to run the installer on wine, wine-staging (winetricks, wine-gecko, wine-nine, wine-mono, vkd3d, lib32-vkd3d are installed) but also tried run on lutris with the latest wine-ge, proton-ge, wine-staging (system) and also on steam. Same error.
xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
I also did a fresh reinstall for the Arch Linux as I thought that I could have mistakenly uninstalled some dependencies.
After the fresh install I'm trying to run only wine as I prefer to keep minimalism.
WINEPREFIX=~/path winetricks -q corefonts vcrun2019 dxvk dotnet48
I'm wondering if I could be missing anything related to the connection configs or anything that came through updates changed the way I should setup the system. It is very weird as I had the ea-app working before.
Thanks!

I could be wrong but as I remember: Hasn't EA shutdown its launcher, have they?
~ quick google search
well - seems origin is still alive: https://www.ea.com/de-de/games - just way too long since I touched any EA game - and scrolling through the list there isn't any I feel the need for
anyway - if even going Lutris https://lutris.net/games/ea-app/ on a fresh install - hm, where you from? could be country blocking from EA

Origin is shut down and replaced by ea-app, origin can be installed but it won't let login.

I only play 1 single game from time to time and unfortunately it is on E.A.

I doubt about country blocking as it was working about 2 weeks ago but I guess it could be possible that ea-app updates are blocking/preventing it to be installed using wine/proton. And yes, I also did try the Lutris script from the link. I will try to set country code on the IWD's config file.

I had this same error using the AUR version of bottles. Once I installed the Flatpak version, it worked perfectly.

I did manage to install it through Lutris with Proton-GE (latest), but I launch E.A App through Lutris using wine-staging as when using Proton-GE the game-saves won't be uploaded to the cloud.
I did not manage to make it work with solely wine and I'm not sure what exactly corrected it as I did many attempts installing, uninstalling and reinstalling things like steam wine and lutris.
