Recently I bought a XPS 13 with u7-258v, I installed Arch on it and I notice that my camera, fingerprint and microphone are not working.

This computer is a "Notebook system certified with Ubuntu",only light sensor is marked as not supported, so there should be some way to solve this.

I notice that on ubuntu's site, they point out that this system works with Kernel 6.11.0-1011-oem. I think this could be something matters, so I'm wondering are there anyway to get this kernal on ArchLinux?

Re: XPS 13 9350(2024) Camera/fingerprint/microphone not working

That is probably not the right approach, it is probably a matter of the driver just not being configured in the Arch kernel.  If so, we can fix that.   First off, I assume those worked when you had Ubuntu installed? (Or did you have it installed?)

What are the output of lsusb and of lspci -nn  ? (That is two 'n's not 'm').  Let's see is we can identify the devices and their drivers.

Re: XPS 13 9350(2024) Camera/fingerprint/microphone not working

The camera works only with the old version of Ubuntu shipped with the laptop. I think 22.04.

I have a XPS 9340 for work and the camera has never worked since I got it. It also delays my boot for 10 seconds so I have disabled the webcam in the UEFI/BIOS settings.

Read: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=297262 for more discussion about it.

Re: XPS 13 9350(2024) Camera/fingerprint/microphone not working

I installed everything I can got about ipu7 in aur, and I installed v4l2-relay with pgk build from https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=277462&p=3

Now v4l2-ctl do notice that I have a camera, but I cant use it in other application.

I think what I'm lack of is only ipu7-camera-hal and icamerasrc, I do get the code of hal from https://github.com/intel/ipu7-camera-hal,but I can't build it.

Re: XPS 13 9350(2024) Camera/fingerprint/microphone not working

Another problem is about touchpad, after a while of using, the Touchpad force feedback on the right half of the toouchpad suddenly became 100%, and the left half remain, when I switch back to windows and switch back, the problem gone.

Sometimes the trackpad input lag suddenly increases, and I don't know why.

Are there any program/software dealing with the communication of the dell touchpad?
