Updated my system recently and noticed when I went to play steam games they weren't running with any sound.
Reviewed my pacman logs to see what all updated that I can roll back and see if it's resolved to a state where it worked prior.
I rolled back these packages:
alsa-card-profiles 1:1.4.4-1 1:1.4.2-1 0.00 MiB
lib32-libpipewire 1:1.4.4-1 1:1.4.2-1 -0.01 MiB
lib32-pipewire 1:1.4.4-1 1:1.4.2-1 0.05 MiB
lib32-pipewire-jack 1:1.4.4-1 1:1.4.2-1 0.00 MiB
libpipewire 1:1.4.4-1 1:1.4.2-1 -0.01 MiB
pipewire 1:1.4.4-1 1:1.4.2-1 0.01 MiB
pipewire-alsa 1:1.4.4-1 1:1.4.2-1 0.00 MiB
pipewire-audio 1:1.4.4-1 1:1.4.2-1 0.05 MiB
pipewire-jack 1:1.4.4-1 1:1.4.2-1 0.00 MiB
pipewire-pulse 1:1.4.4-1 1:1.4.2-1 0.00 MiB
With them rolled back sound once again works with steam games. I assume it's just the steam games since Minecraft via prismlauncher works regardless the package version used.

My solution was to build 1.4.4 with the commit from that issue reverted.

Fixed on master by the author, need to wait for release: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire … ssues/4722.

Ooof, I spent two evenings trying to figure out why Stray suddenly didn't work anymore. I was looking at the recent Mesa update, as the error message was completely unhelpful (just "Fatal error").
Only when I gave up, booted up another game and noticed the lack of sound, did I connect the dots, ha. Downgrading Pipewire did the trick, for now.

1.4.5 just appeared in testing with the fix included
