Does anyone know? He's either formally departed, trekking in the Himalaya or gone A.W.O.L. He doesn't seem the type to do a WillySilly though.
The main reason I ask is curiosity but the second reason is xfce-svn - it's now out of date and if he's not coming back and no-one is going to maintain it I want to stop using it sooner rather than later.

In a recent post, it was said that now that xfce4.4 is released, -svn will probably be a pointless thing for the next little while since they plan on breaking some stuff in trunk.

I'm not sure that answers the question...

I also read somewhere that he was also quite busy lately.
As for xfce, perhaps you might want to switch to the stable one for now as it looks like the svn pkg won't be updated soon.

Sorry, I guess I forgot to prefix my post with "on a note related to your 'second reason' for asking" - as for Shadowhand I don't know, haven't talked to him, but I figured since I have nothing relevant to add on that point I wouldn't say anything about it.

Here's a quick and dirty version. I got a job as a web developer/server admin in early August, 2006, in a 3 person company specializing in complete web services (design, build, and host websites, domain and email management, etc). It quickly became apparent that a lot of work would be done to get them up to par with larger shops, both in terms of quality of code and server setup. I struggled to keep up with my packages until mid November, and the quality of them gradually slipped. I was brought on as a developer, and commited to that position.
In december I dicided to purchase a MacBook as my main (read: work) laptop. I fully intended to put Arch on it after a week (wanted to test OSX out for a while, hadn't used it in two years). At the end of that time, I did indeed attempt to install Arch on it. Because of the issues with MacBook hardware, I was simply unable to install Arch (keyboard keys all repeated twice, computer would hard lock after 2-5 minutes of booting the install cd, etc). Deadlines came up, I vowed to fix it after deadlines were over. The deadlines never stopped. Since early December, I've been working at least 60 hours a week.
So, that's the end of short(er) version. I am truely sorry for simply disappearing off the face of the map. My hectic work schedule, combined with the holidays, made me completely forget about Arch for almost a month. I can't say when there will be updates, but I fully intend to return to active development sometime soon. Xfce-svn will be continued beyond the release of Xfce4.4. Remember, this is development code, so as development happens, new packages happen. (Except when the maintainer takes a leave of absence without telling anyone
). I don't know if gaim-svn will continued, I was strictly trying to get gaim 2.0 when I started building it. It's not fun to maintain, so that one will be dropped. Mplayer-svn, the evil pig that it is, will also be updated, with correct depends, etc.
Again, I apologize to the community, and the dev team for my very sudden, mostly quiet disappearance. (And, stonecrest, sorry about the spelling errors.
)
