When debugging some packages, I can choose to use debuginfod with GDB.
However, it will try to download debug info for every dependency, whereas most of them are useless.
For example, when debugging some KDE software, your disk will be filled with gigabytes of debug info for Qt stuffs.
However, most of the time, the problem lies in the KDE software itself, not the underlying Qt stuffs.
So I think debug info for that particular software package should suffice.
Currently, my strategy is to turn off the network after debug info for the necessary package is downloaded, so debuginfod will skip the rest.
However, is there any more elegant way to do this?

Not exactly what you asked for, but may work:
Add debug repos to pacman.conf .
Manually install the debug packages needed to get a good trace.
(For kde Dr. Konqi will inform you when it has enough debug symbols for a usable trace.)
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
