sonata won't start, no errors

(I understand there is already a "sonata not working" thread, but I have a slightly different problem)  Sonata was working perfectly fine and then one day it just stopped working.  When I try starting it there is no GUI whatsoever and there aren't any errors messages at all.  I've tried multiple different versions with the same result.

Re: sonata won't start, no errors

Have you tried moving your ~/.sonata folder?

Thanks cdhotfire, I was unaware ~/.config/sonata was moved to ~/.sonata.

It wasn't (maybe in a really really old version it was ~/.sonata..). As for what you're seeing, it sounds like you had minimized sonata to the tray and then closed it like that. When you open it again, it'll retain that state.
