I updated to the newest kernel and firmware from testing:
6.14.7-arch2-1
Seems to fix it for me, not sure if it was the firmware or the kernel. But I am happy.

The reverted linux-firmware 20250508.788aadc8-2 works fine for me with linux 6.14.6.arch1-1.

it actually seems to be same issue as this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=301045

It seems that the latest linux-firmware fixes the problem, my card is now detected and seems to work perfectly.
pacman -Q linux-firmware
linux-firmware 20250508.788aadc8-2

Identified though the latest 6.14.7-arch2-1 get WiFi connection, but I could not select different SSID for alternative WiFi connection. When selecting different SSID to connect, system will stocked and you cannot even shutdown the system. Checked the LTS there's no such issue. Hope this info is helpful.

Hi all,
after struggling a bit with my wifi i have noted the last firmware package doesn't create a directory structures like this.
ls

/lib/firmware/ath12k/WCN7850/hw2.0
I had to manually download via
git clone https://git.codelinaro.org/clo/ath-firm … k-firmware
and copy it manually.
Now the firmware is correctly loaded on kernel 6.14.8

linux-firmware 20250508.788aadc8-2 reverted the bad commit fixing the issue. The next upstream linux-firmware release will fix the issue with updated firmware rather than reverting to older firmware.

Thank U man

Is the problem now solved? Caus I see I still have some files missing for the firmware

Do you have the same card as the topic starter? Are you experiencing the same symptoms? What firmware files are missing?

it seems to be a different issue, actually. I compile linux-mainline (6.16rc2). It works there.

Same issue here. I solved with linux-lts, but I hope this will be fixed soon in the last kernel...

EDIT: Fixed by downgrading linux-firmware

I have noticed that exactly today as I have updated my pc. Basically, it went from a single linux-firmware package, to a bunch of child packages, and one happened to be linux-firmware-atheros.
The new package linux-firmware-atheros, was giving an older firmware: WLAN.HMT.1.0.c5-00481-QCAHMTSWPL_V1.0_V2.0_SILICONZ-3
So when I have downgraded the package, a newer version of the firmware was used instead: WLAN.HMT.1.1.c5-00284.1-QCAHMTSWPL_V1.0_V2.0_SILICONZ-3
From 1.0 to 1.1 after downgrading the package.
What I just did was:
sudo pacman -R linux-firmware-amdgpu linux-firmware-atheros linux-firmware-broadcom linux-firmware-intel linux-firmware-mediatek linux-firmware-nvidia linux-firmware-other linux-firmware-radeon linux-firmware-realtek linux-firmware-whence
sudo pacman -R linux-firmware
Then installed the following version using `downgrade linux-firmware`:
linux-firmware 20250508.788aadc8-2
If that is the case for you, I think there is a regression (literally), and the newer packages needs to be corrected.
Edit: Mixed mentioning the versions. So fixed now (old firmware in new package, new firmware in old package)

thank you, it worked for me too, so I don't need to use linux-lts anymore. For now I keep linux-firmware in IgnorePkg, let's hope the issue will be solved soon.

Hi all, I have just checked there was a new update today and now I have this version running:
fw_version 0x100301e1 fw_build_timestamp 2023-12-06 04:05 fw_build_id QC_IMAGE_VERSION_STRING=WLAN.HMT.1.0.c5-00481-QCAHMTSWPL_V1.0_V2.0_SILICONZ-3
It looks like they changed it to the working version. So I think it is now safe to update and remove the IgnorePkg. Thanks!

I have the same chip but still doesn't work. The last time it worked based on logs was the beginning of June.
