How's 4.4 compared to 4.2 in terms of speed.
Because I don't really need all those new features in Xfce and  the only reason to upgrade
would be speed and ofc the bugfixes ,which luckily haven't bothered me till now.

I have a suggestion:
Use cimi86's work.
He's an Archer and has made truly stunningly beautiful engines and themes (MurrinaCool being my favorite, not made by cimi86 though).
