profile picture wont upload?

I'm trying to upload a profile picture but this just isn't happening. The picture is a gif file that is 2.1kb and 65x65 pixels and I'm trying to upload from my computer. Why is this not working for me? Thanks for any help.

Re: profile picture wont upload?

Yeah, expect it would be much easier to not have to do that. Not to mention I don't want to do that. But if thats the only solution then I guess I must.

Re: profile picture wont upload?

I'm having a similar problem: unable to upload a small jpeg either from my local machine or my server space. I get:

General Error

Could not write avatar file to local storage. Please contact the board administrator with this message

DEBUG MODE

Line : 179
File : usercp_avatar.php

My avatar image URI, by the way, is http://polis.nbtsc.org/~max/maxorhai.small.jpeg

Tomorrow we're switching the forum software to punbb. Among other things it will fix this problem.

This has been the case since I joined (over 2 years ago now - gulp!) I link to a file on my web server. I suspect that's how everyone else does it too.

Yeah, I saw that announcement. The only problem it has is the lack of support for polls, but maybe there is a plugin for that? Either way I'm looking forward to see the new forums.

Is the image 80x80 pixels & 10KiB or less? I presume this is to change your avatar?

Does the interface give any error message when you try to upload the image?

Re: profile picture wont upload?

oolyvi appears to have figured out how to set an avatar. Putting this topic back to sleep.
