Re: [SOLVED] Complete system freeze after playing a game for a bit

Bus error, is it reported as "correctable"?
Make sure the GPU is
1. properly seated
2. in the PEG slot (PCIe16 w/ increased power supply)
3. has the dedicated 6/8-pin power supply attached

You can also try "pcie_aspm=off"

Could it also be my raiser cable?

Checked all 3 power cables are properly seated. I might need to check the riser cable.

Yup, anything between the GPU and the IOMMU

Would this error also appear if its using the wrong PCIE gen in the bios?

Re: [SOLVED] Complete system freeze after playing a game for a bit

?
PCIe is bidirectionally downward compatible, but if you can somehow enforce a version against the actual HW capabilities you're effectively overclocking the bus and that will lead to hiccups and those will most likely result in such errors, yes.
Does your BIOS allow you to enforce a PCIe version for a specific slot/device???

Re: [SOLVED] Complete system freeze after playing a game for a bit

Yeah i can set the PCIE gen in my BIOS. Could be the raiser I bought is gen 3 only. Might need to buy a new one that is gen 4.

Ah setting it to gen 3 fixed those errors.

EDIT: It was set to auto before. Looks like that might have been what was causing those errors.

Re: [SOLVED] Complete system freeze after playing a game for a bit

After testing for a few more days its been pretty stable. So it was the damn raiser cable being a gen 3 one, and having to set it to gen 3 in the BIOS.

Thanks again for your help seth!
