Hello Everyone,
I installed Arch Linux a couple of weeks ago, and everything went great.
I'm running ML4W and Hyprland, and I'm loving it so far.
The only issue I have is that my screen disconnects when I launch a game and am in the menu. It goes black for a few seconds, then comes back to life and seems to work fine except when it does that again.
First I have the following hardware configuration:
• AMD 7900 GRE
• Ryzen 5700X3D
• Dual screen setup: One monitor is 2560x1440@144Hz, the second one is 1680x1050@59Hz.
This happens only on the 2560x1440 monitor. If I unplug the 1680x1050 one, it seems to work great.
I read the wiki and followed the "Set kernel module parameters" section since I have a 7000 AMD card, but it didn’t make any difference.
After some investigation, I noticed the same issue occurs in VLC. My guess is that it’s related to hardware acceleration.
I checked both VA-API and VDPAU and followed the verification steps from the wiki. VDPAU wasn’t set up correctly (and just returned an error), so I did the following:
LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=radeonsi
VDPAU_DRIVER=radeonsi
The output for VA-API: https://pastebin.com/TZBsZjbH
And for VDPAU: https://pastebin.com/DiPUZ8z4
However, this did not resolve the issue (except for VDPAU returning something with vdpauinfo).
My ML4W monitor config file is :
monitor = HDMI-A-1, 2560x1440@144.00, 0x0, 1
monitor = HDMI-A-2, preferred, 2560x195, 1
and hyprctl monitors all return : https://pastebin.com/HpiqWbsG
The strange thing is when I unplugged one monitor it’s working great (same if I setup both monitor at 1080p).
I’m running out of ideas, so I’m turning to you for some guidance.
I hope my post is well-written and follows the rules of this forum, as this is my first time posting here.
Thanks in advance!
