[Solved] How to enable Gervill

I jave installed impro-visor but I can't get a sound. In the midi setup I keep getting 'Can't open line' error with gervill.
I have a working Java environment and working midi setup with both Fluidity and Timidity. I can play midi files with either on them.
I have tried replacing he default soundfont in ~/.gervill with he one I have in my system but still won't work.
I also have a working Jack plus QSynth working which I use for my keyboard. I tried that but still can't get any sound.
How does one properly configure Gervill to work?

Re: [Solved] How to enable Gervill

It turns out something was occupying ALSA channels. Simply deleting /etc/asound.conf solves the problem.
