archinstall successful but no boot option in bios

this is an intel processor pc (fujitsu, preused)
fine for ca 3 years with manjaro and mabox
now, stopped booting at initial listing "/dev/..."
archinstall lxqt desktop (with systemd bootloader) first unsuccessful with "waiting for time sync"
but eventually successful (no errors or holdups at all anymore)
however, bios does not list harddrive as bootable option

i assume faulty harddrive/sata controller but
is there any chance that this is down to a faulty installation?
(i am not after rescuing data but a functioning arch pc.)

thanks

As with all things archinstall related, the first step is to redo the part that failed manually, follow the wiki guide and see if the script got it wrong.
