In case you haven't noticed, neotuli's completed the transfer from phpbb to punbb. I extend many thanks to him and cactus for their efforts. Nice work guys!
If you notice any quirks or bugs, here would be a good place to post them. Feature/mod/plugin requests are also welcome, but bear in mind we're concerned about future upgrades to the punbb software and each mod or plugin is one extra thing to maintain.

I'd like to suggest that people give the new look more than a cursory glance before they go crazy too

I like it! Congratulations on a successful migration

Some of the tags, more specifically the url tags imageshack gives out, are in uppercase but it seems punbb only likes tags in lowercase. I don't know if there's an easy way to fix this but just a heads up. Tags are case sensitive it looks like.

yeah I noticed this morning
a whole new look
cant say i like it, there are somethings i thought about whining about earlier but decided not to
cause i know theres alot of hard work put into this, and a thank you to all involved
i know i am not to accepting of change, but a few things i got accustomed to
1. posts since last visit (123)< not that its oh so important its just nice to know how much activity there has been
2. view your posts <which i found in profile,-- eh whats 1 more click<
3. the links posted without link arent links just text <how hard is highlight©
4. pm box <replaced with email link which warns of email disclosure to recipient
5. ability to check box to insert signature if wanted<now only in profile
if these things are a hassle then leave as is but its just some stuff i will miss ,
and as i said earlier i am resistant to change most times
again thank you to everyone involved in making this community as pleasurable as it has/will been/be
edit:
ps: yes i realize you could beat me in the head with my own signature regaurding my comments here

congrats on the transfer. In general things look great, though I have a couple of gripes:
1) The results on the search page seem, to me, to be more cluttered than on phpbb. I can get used to it, just figured I'd say.
2) I miss the fancy buttons with the arch logo for stuff like reply, quote, view new posts, mark all read, etc...
3) Is the time on the server messed up? I need to set my time to GMT-02 in the profile to get everything lined up accurately, but I'm in GMT-05.
-=edit=- Ooooooo, this is snappy-fast forum software. Slick! -=/edit=-

In fact, yes it is. Now that said, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot I can do about it. The forum knows what TZ it is in... but for some reason I think different apache threads are caching different TZs if you happen to switch recently (try reloading the page a bunch.... you see it change). Not much I can do about it.
2. view your posts <which i found in profile,-- eh whats 1 more click<
3. the links posted without link arent links just text <how hard is highlight©
2. Bottom of the forum index page... there is a link straight to your posts. No, I didn't look down there when I first tried it either.
3. That's an option that we actually decided to turn off. Can't remember why exactly, ask cactus. It can always be turned on if we *really* want to.
The suggestion box only accepts patches.

I love it... the snappy performance is nice, too!
There's something about this new board that just feels more Archy...
Edit: Great job by all those responsible for the transfer!

Hey! The quick reply box is bigger. I used that box a lot before and it was just so small that I sometimes had to give up and click the reply button. This is nice. I kinda like the new look. It's very simple, yet efficient and elegant. It just has that ... clean look to it. It's very clean looking in fact. I like it.
Cheers

I thought that ditching them was part and parcel of stripped down and speedy - i also think it make it render better on non-X browsers...
I preferred the old smilies I also have a few minor request which I will save for much later.
I think it is also important that people realise that this new software is not supposed to replace the phpbb function for function, some functionality has been ditched deliberately to make things simpler and more streamlined, which I think is an absolutely good thing.

Much snappier response
Makes me happy.
I've always liked PunBB, so I don't have complaints.

What I like: the responsiveness, the colors (seems familiar), having an avatar, the cleanness. All and all I like it so far.
My only crit right now is along these lines:
The results on the search page seem, to me, to be more cluttered than on phpbb
It seems like there needs to be more padding on the thread indexes, including the search.

If you notice any quirks or bugs, here would be a good place to post them.
Something kind of weird but not too bothersome just yet is that the times of my posts and visits keep changing. I've looked in my profile and the time is set correctly.
Edit: it appears that when I leave the board and return later (but still logged in) the time reverts back to what it would be if I weren't logged in. I can go to my profile and resubmit the settings without actually changing anything and the times appear correctly after page reloads. Hope that helps...

Neotuli's post above give an explanation for that.

Ack... totally missed that part of his post. Sorry

First of all, I neglected to say this earlier which was just plain wrong. I want to say that, given my experience of such things, I am astounded at the smooth transition to the new software and the spectacular results, this forum really does look fantastic in its simplicity and the way the old posts have carried over is not something I ever thought could be achieved without nightmarish results. Massive congratulations to those involved.
Moving on...
Why the hell can't you use the Edit CSS feature of the Web Dev toolbar in Firefox and still view the page you are editing at normal width? I mean how dumb is that?! Or is it just me?
This may be just me too (I know skottish agrees ) but I think the width of some of the columns on the index pages could use some tweaking. Generally I think .tc1 needs to be bit wider to prevent wrapping - esp with those bold fonts, which makes it a bit unreadable. I doubt the extent/effect of that was known before the old posts were migrated though.
Specifically:
In search results - .tc3 and .tcr are too wide and .tc1 is too narrow on the base.css
In the indices (Main and Forum) - .tc1 is not wide enough and .tcr way too wide and .tc2 and .tc3 are probably too wide in both
I wish I had a patch or a screenie by due to aforementioned CSS ineptitude I do not.

Yeah, where's my head?
This is by far the most seamless forum transition I've ever seen. Great work!

The blue square in front of the thread titles which is supposed to tell which threads has unread posts is not working for me. It stays blue unless I click on the "mark all topics as read' link. Anyone has this problem?

Yup, I have the same problem as Snowman above.

cactus gave me this answer:
It stays blue until you flag all posts as read. I don't think simply visiting the post unflags it any more.
Not sure though.

Yeah, I did too at first, but I'm starting to kind of like this more text oriented look. Beginning to wish we didn't have avatars either.
Edit: I was thinking the smaller fonts looked better/cleaner.

Nothing beats phpBB but i'm starting to like the Openboxness? of this punBB
Edit: Text is kinda smallish tho and lists are kinda confusing (yeah I know the size can be changed ^^ )
