I second Mikko777 in terms of the font size.

Now instead of stopping using bbs, I'm visiting it to marvel at its snappiness and decent looks :-(

Yeah, I did too at first, but I'm starting to kind of like this more text oriented look.  Beginning to wish we didn't have avatars either.  wink

Done... thanks for the suggestion!  I saw that option in the profile earlier, but forgot about it.  smile

Use the 'email' link under the user's name. Cactus likes it that way wink

A big thanks to cactus for turning us on to punbb and neotuli for setting it up. Well done guys.

You know, the more I get used to this layout, the less this is a problem for me... the text-based links are easy enough to find once you know where to look.  -1 gripe from me.  big_smile

Re: punbb transfer

I love how instead of PM's it's an email. PM's annoyed me usually, but with this, it'll be just like getting an email.

This post box is much better, and the whole site looks so much better, so much more Arch-like. Great work Neotuli!

Gave me an excuse to make a new avatar too!

I agree. It looks and feels nice.

Mr. Green, don't get upset, people use to joke around here sometimes, but they've never been unfriendly.

The only thing I miss is the date of the thread start. Now it shows only the last post's date.

Ohh, I'm member now, and not new to board anymore smile

nice, clean and fast! great work guys!

oh, and i think i found a bug or something hmm. if you look at this topic http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=28834, after the 9th post the "windows" are different sizes and the font is bigger. i don't know if this is just on my computer or the problem is on the server. here is the pic if nobody else sees it: forumjo8.th.png

Re: punbb transfer

Congratulations on the switch to PunBB.
It is an excellent light-weight bulletin board system.

And then it happened... a door opened to a world... rushing through the phone line like heroin through an addict's veins, an electronic pulse is sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought... a board is found.

Nice to see the new boards up and running. I must say that I personally really like the new system. Lightweight and beautiful, just like I like it. Congratulations and keep up the good work.

Re: punbb transfer

Wow, this forum is very very attractive. I always had a sour vibe about PHPBB due to a bunch of security holes and the like it had among some other issues (performance). This forum looks better, feels better, seems faster, more organized, etc. etc. etc.

To tell you the truth, I was pretty pessimistic when I heard about a change in forum software. I am now really glad you guys switched. I never heard of this forum software before now, but I will look into it for my future needs.

Another +1 for Arch's forum staff! smile

edit: I just noticed, the smilies are really nice on this board too. smile
