Hello,
I am using a Dell Inspiron 14 5425 with the Ryzen 5 5625U APU. I have decided against posting this post in the laptop issues section, as my display's brightness can still be controlled using the powerdevil GUI, third-party utilities, and manually in the sys file tree. However, my problem here is that KDE has seemingly stopped registering my Brightness up and Brightness down, meaning that I can longer control my display's brightness with the built-in keys. I am using KDE Wayland.

I just tried KDE X11, and the brightness control no longer works. Also, I forgot to mention, but using wev, I can see that the F6 and F7 keys work normally as function keys. I also tried using linux-lts to no avail

Just checked out
# libinput debug-events . No mention of any backlight keys showing up, but my media keys do work.

Also please don't bump - edit your previous post to mend it if nobody has yet replied.

That is a different issue. They are not able to change their blacklight level no matter what and were having problems due to the amdgou change in the recent kernel. I am able to change my levels and they stay at that level. My problem is that the keyboard shortcut used to do so no longer works
Sorry about the bump.

How? What are the shortcuts bound to? What if you actually add "amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x40000" to the kernel parameters (in case whatever your shortcuts are bound to operates on absolute values)

Welp, funny thing. After making my initial post, I shutdown my laptop and went to go doomscroll on instagram. I just turned it back on to try out that amdgpu kernel command line option you gave and now my keys work again. Must've been an issue that went away with a cold reboot. Thanks for your help.

To be clear, is that w/ "amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x40000" in place?
Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.

That is without the debug mask in place. Thanks
