Using KDE/Wayland on a T580 laptop. Not sure whether to blame Wayland or KDE.
Whenever I "reverse" pinch using three fingers on the touchpad, the entire screen zooms in to the cursor (I have to then pinch again to zoom out). Not just the application, but the *entire* screen/desktop environment is zoomed in. I find this extremely confusing and annoying because I often end up accidentally doing it. Is there a way to disable this behavior? I tried various permutations of searches to disable touchpad gestures, but I didn't have any luck. All results are old threads from like 5 years ago saying these things are not configurable on KDE.

I had the same problem and found out it’s caused by a desktop effect. You can disable it in:
System Settings > Window Management > Desktop Effects > Zoom
Hope this helps!

THANK YOU! This was driving me crazy. Also insane that they used a round checkbox option for that instead of a normal checkbox, it makes it look like it's a mandatory choice.
