I noticed that the compatibility using plymouth and SDDM was not 100% clear. Is there a way i can use both or no ? And if so how do i do it ? I have the base instalation of plymouth but i did not change any service.

SDDM and plymouth have no inherent relation and do different things so yes you can use both. What about https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Plymouth#Installation is unclear?

Ok i might be confused on that actually but i was looking for a way to have a smooth transition between them.
Also im having problems with the plymouth instalation ![]()
For my /etc/default/grub I have these parameters
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet loglevel=3 udev.log-priority=3 splash nvidia.NVreg_PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations=1 nvidia-drm.modeset=1"I also added plymouth to the hooks and reloaded the initramfs
HOOKS=(base udev plymouth autodetect microcode modconf kms keyboard keymap consolefont block filesystems fsck)I also changed theme to spinfinity but, when i reboot my system the splash defaults to text, I have to click ESC for it to show. When i do that the theme is not the correct one and also its not being correctly loaded.
Everythings a mess so Im kinda lost tbh.
Also smt i noticed a while ago and this might be the issue, is that when im getting this:
❯ cat /proc/cmdline
BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-linux root=UUID=7f6a30c7-28ee-4545-bec4-9f1dc9ee3ede rw loglevel=3 quiet nvidia.NVreg_PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations=1 nvidia-drm.modeset=1Splash is not apearing eventough i added it to grub file.
Ok this was certantly the issue, to explain what happened i basically had a custom file with the entries, of grub and i needed to change that file because it was hardcoded. Ah man fml tbh.
Thanks anyways this trial and error got me there.
