the wiki page for WirePlumber said to bind my volume keys to instructions like XF86AudioRaiseVolume etc. using the XFCE Keyboard settings -> Application Shortcuts. it was able to "see" my volume keys as "AudioRaiseVolume" etc. but when i press the key, i get an error saying:
Failed to launch shortcut "AudioRaiseVolume"
Failed to execute child process "XF86AudioRaiseVolume" (No such file or directory)
is there a package i need to install? am i going about this the wrong way? is there a GUI for WirePlumber?
thanks!

ok, i missed some pages that describe using xbindkeys to do this using pactl commands. i also see that the session manager is qpwgraph, which i have installed; just confused it with pavucontrol because i hadn't used either in a minute. going to mark this thread abandoned while i do a little more reading, and will start up a new topic once i have a better grasp of some of this stuff.
