Can fingerprint replace boot password on thinkpad?

Thinkpads let you set a boot password that has to be entered every time the system starts. On Windows, if you’ve set up a fingerprint, there’s a Synaptics app that lets you use the fingerprint scanner instead of typing the password at boot. Is there a way to do something like that on Arch Linux? I’m using a Thinkpad t14s gen 1 AMD.

Re: Can fingerprint replace boot password on thinkpad?

I'm not sure if you're talking about the firmware boot password or the regular encryption thingy.

If it's the former: dualboot with windows and set it up from there.
If it's the latter: depends on how you have set up your encryption.

Why I run Arch? To "BTW I run Arch" the guy one grade younger.
And to let my siblings and cousins laugh at Arsch Linux...
