Re: January 2007 Screenshots

now this is kind of a dumb question, and it's not addressed specifically to codemac, but how do you make the list of nicks on the side like that, it's pretty common but i can't figure out how to do it (script, built in feature?)

Codemac is using weechat, which has that feature built in and on by default. Amirite, codemac?

However, there's a plugin/script for irssi that displays the nicklist.

rezza @ [url wrote:

http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=356764]1[/url]. Create a ~/.irssi/scripts directory.
2. Save nicklist.pl in there.
3. Start up irssi inside screen ("screen irssi").
4. /script load nicklist
5. /nicklist screen

The script is here.

EDIT: Yay, this is the 2^8 th post in this thread. tongue

Yes, the feature is built in.  Also, the nicks that are in blue are those nicks that weechat has checked with the IRC server as being away.  You can turn this feature on by doing

/set irc_away_check = <some number greater than 0, which is the number of minutes between away checks>

Yes you are correct smile  I've used the nicklist.pl before and I never liked how it worked, but if it's a feature you need and irssi is the your client of choice it's the best option.

Re: January 2007 Screenshots

Very nice. I just installed ion3 as a fallback replacement for twm, until I have funkyou's kdemod installed, and I have to admit, that for simple tasks (like using some xterms, and a rdesktop session) it's amazingly practical.

Didn't take a closer look about setup and customization of ion3, but as you have your config online, I may give it a try. Can you also put that good looking background image in your repository?

As codemac said already - it's one of many fancy features of WeeChat

Neat! never knew that.  Here's a fun one too:

/aspell enable en

Now, as you type, weechat will change words to red if misspelled! I think you have to enable it buffer-by-buffer, as I have no idea how to do it for the whole server

You didn't read carefully. In the wallpaper's link, there was a link that leads to the wallpack (in customize.org), which includes the one lyrae is using (the "beigh" one). wink

This is the link you're looking for: http://www.customize.org/download/47991. Enjoy. smile

BTW, nice shot, lyrae! Very soft on the eyes.

Meqif is correct. The wallpaper is in the wallpack. The conky config is in the mail. smile
