Back then every Linux distro would come with this genious applet, now no one remembers it. I tried building it on an arch box but it said some libs were missing.. probably I didnt configure some env variables well. Could somebody make an aur of this applet please?

Try rebuilding it but this time post the error message that you're getting.

ok, this is the error I get when I do ./configure
Using $(sysconfdir)/gconf/schemas as install directory for schema files
checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes
checking for TEATIME... configure: error: Package requirements (glib-2.0 gdk-pixbuf-2.0 gtk+-2.0 gstreamer-0.8 gstreamer-gconf-0.8 gnome-vfs-2.0 libpanelapplet-2.0 libxml-2.0) were not met.
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively you may set the TEATIME_CFLAGS and TEATIME_LIBS environment variables
to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for
more details.

Looks like it needs gstreamer 0.8. Meanwhile, the rest of the world has moved on to 0.10.
I couldn't find Arch packages for gst 0.8, so it looks like you can either get the PKGBUILD for gst 0.10, modify it for .8, and compile; or just contact the author about the issue and wait for an update.
