No videos playing in any local media player app

Hey y'all. Not exactly sure when, but suddenly when attempting to open any video file (regardless of format) in any player app I had previously installed (VLC, Dragon, DaVinci Resolve). However, after installing mpv recently, it seems to function normally.
My system is up to date, and I have tried reinstalling the media players and their exclusive dependencies. When attempting to open them, VLC reports it's missing codecs (despite having played that video fine in the past), Dragon reports a broken file, and DaVinci just shows a black screen - all of these, however, still playing audio. No relevant journalctl information. Videos still play in browsers or in webapps like Discord (Vesktop), as well as their thumbnails being displayed properly. Any common issues to look out for, or have I gone and broken something badly?

https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x8 … ugins-all/ - no idea about dragon or davinci players (except if they use vlc)
