[SOLVED] What to do after using makepkg ?

==============================================================
[laura@archlaura sublime-text-4]$ ls
pkg
PKGBUILD
src
sublime_text_4_4_4200_1_x64.tar.xz
sublime-text-4-4.4200-1-x86_64.pkg
sublime-text-4-4.4200-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
sublime-text-4-debug-4.4200-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
sublime-text-4.sh

[laura@archlaura sublime-text-4]$ cd ./sublime-text-4-4.4200-1-x86_64.pkg

[laura@archlaura sublime-text-4-4.4200-1-x86_64.pkg]$ ls
opt  usr

[laura@archlaura sublime-text-4-4.4200-1-x86_64.pkg]$ cd ./usr/

[laura@archlaura usr]$ ls
bin  share

[laura@archlaura usr]$ cd ./share/

[laura@archlaura share]$ ls
applications  icons

[laura@archlaura share]$ cd ./icons/

[laura@archlaura icons]$ ls
hicolor

[laura@archlaura icons]$ cd ./hicolor/

[laura@archlaura hicolor]$ ls
128x128  16x16  256x256  32x32  48x48

[laura@archlaura hicolor]$

===================================================
As you can see I finished building the sublime text through makepkg, it created several files that make references to directories present in the system, the idea would be to be guided by them and copy each file in its proper place? And regarding the icons, should I put each image in its folder according to the size? 12x12, 32x32... There is no PKG command that installs the package automatically such as "make install".

Re: [SOLVED] What to do after using makepkg ?

After that I entered the created directory, and found the "configure" script I ran the script and it found some dependencies missing, I would like to know how to find them.

configure: libsane 32-bit development files not found, scanners won't be supported.
configure: libgphoto2 32-bit development files not found, digital cameras won't be supported.
configure: libgphoto2_port 32-bit development files not found, digital cameras won't be auto-detected.
configure: FFmpeg 32-bit development files not found.
configure: OSS sound system found but too old (OSSv4 needed), OSS won't be supported.
configure: libcapi20 32-bit development files not found, ISDN won't be supported.
configure: libnetapi not found, Samba NetAPI won't be supported.

configure: Finished.  Do 'make' to compile Wine.

I know I can already compile, but it bothers me that I don't have all the dependencies, teach me how to find, please.

Re: [SOLVED] What to do after using makepkg ?

Is this a continuation of your "I can't install sublime-text-4" problem or your "I can't install wine-stable" problem?

  • First, you know that wine is available in Extra, right? And that you don't need to install it from the AUR? But you specifically  want wine-stable, right?

  • Second, it looks like those might be optional dependencies? Do you really want/need those features? If not, don't worry about it.

  • Third, I've never had to configure anything on wine, so what "configure" script are you talking about? Where did you find it? What was the command that you ran which generated that output?

  • Fourth, in answer to the (implied) question "teach me how to find, please", you've already been linked to the Wiki article on the AUR. If you are going to use the AUR, you should really spend a day (or two) reading the wiki and pondering its beauty.

Cheers,

Cheers,

I think I ended up getting a little confused in what I was trying to do, I'm sorry I managed to solve it after reading the link, thanks for the help smile

How do I mark it as solved?

Mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.

On a formal note, please avoid bloating thread with pointless full-quotes of previous quotes.
