Where exactly do I add the systemd.unit=multi-user.target
- linux /boot/vmlinuz-linux-lts root=UUID=6a96a49d-32a3-4b03-9b8a-56d502647016 rw loglevel=3 quiet
+ linux /boot/vmlinuz-linux-lts root=UUID=6a96a49d-32a3-4b03-9b8a-56d502647016 rw loglevel=3 systemd.unit=multi-user.targetWhen booting with the nvidia card, I am using Wayland, not X11
ah, ok - then it might be a misconfiguration of the specific wayland compositor (driving your DM) - notably since the output names will likely change
The word I get is X11 is going away and I'm stuck with Wayland
Gnome plans to drop X11 soon, KDE in a couple of years - but X11 isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

UPDATE: Everything is on hold for now. I ordered a new video card (Asus Prime RX9060 XT). We'll see how this works out. The card I now have is nearly 10 years old! Was sitting in the box, never used.
Thanks all for your help! !!

I retired the system I was using and built a new computer. All AMD. That fixed it!
Thanks all for your input.
