Whether I use cheese or Zoom as a webcam, I find the lower part of the screen to be flickering. I've just installed cheese 44.1. I have a Dell 25" monitor set to 2048x1080 but even at 1920x1080 the screen is flickering. The webcam is a Logitech hd1080p. I have tried unplugging the USB cable for the webcam but there's no difference.
Below are some messages from dmesg showing that the webcam was recognized after plugging it back in.

While spending time trying to troubleshoot the issue, I remembered that I had an older webcam that I was planning on donating. When I used the older webcam the flickering issue disappeared. I then plugged in the newer webcam and the flickering issue is no longer there. There are more details to this, such as trying myriads of suggestions from ChatGPT, but ultimately I did not have to tweak any settings. At 30fps (with either webcam) the video is not great, but still usable.
