strange problem with eric3

i pacmaned eric3, and im having a strange problem with icons.. the icons that are supposed to be grayed out, are black, is anyone else having this issue, or better yet, does anyone know a solution for this.. anyway, here's the screenshot

I just reinstalled eric3 after some other non-related problems, seems ok this end. Not sure if you've tried already but have you opened a file or started a new one to see if they change and become usable
