Hi all, been having some issues with WoW recently and could do with some guidance, here is the situation.
- WoW is crashing often, usually while in menus or after making some sort of graphical tweak, I can quite reliably cause the crash if I enable MSAA x4.
- GPU is RTX 3080.
- Tried Wayland and X11.
- Packages up to date.
- Tried running WoW in Bottles, Lutris and Faugus Launcher.
I had some issues with WoW some time ago which seemed to have been RAM issues, but that was freezing the system, whereas this is a straight up crash, my PC just reboots.
Any advice or guidance on how to start diagnosing this would be appreciated!
UPDATE:
I just did some testing on another monitor while I was working this morning (cheeky, I know!). This monitor is 720p, I seemed to have no issues at all even on ultra graphics, everything cranked to max. it then crashed almost immediately after I set the render scale to 200%. I could hear the fans start to spin up faster and the coil whine increased, then crash. I'm wondering if maybe this is either GPU based issue or a busted PSU as it seems the crash only happens under high load... Is there a way I can sanity check this before I go and splash for new hardware?
