Modprobe isn't working!

I was having the hardest time getting cpufreq to work.  I enabled CnQ in Bios, etc.  I gave up (for the moment) and moved on to configuring Xorg.  I think I've discovered what my problem is.  Modprobe isn't working the way it should!  It's giving me the same trouble with my nvidia driver.  Am I doing something wrong here?  I've tried modprobe nvidia, modprove <nvidia>, etc.

You haven't given any information at all that would enable others to help you. Please provide some details.

Re: Modprobe isn't working!

Specifically, what output are you getting from your modprobe commands?  Are you running modprobe as root?

Re: Modprobe isn't working!

Have you started the cpufreqd daemon?

(as root)

/etc/rc.d/cpufreqd start

/etc/cpufreqd.conf has all the configuration options and add it to rc.conf to startup with it.

Same problem happened to me. smile

Your answer is unrelated to the question. cpufreqd is NOT required to use cpufreq.
