I'm the only maintainer of the package (rusk), do next:
alex@arch ~/p/$/rusk (master)> AUR_OVERWRITE=1 git push --force
Enumerating objects: 7, done.
Counting objects: 100% (7/7), done.
Delta compression using up to 8 threads
Compressing objects: 100% (4/4), done.
Writing objects: 100% (4/4), 507 bytes | 507.00 KiB/s, done.
Total 4 (delta 2), reused 0 (delta 0), pack-reused 0 (from 0)
remote: error: denying non-fast-forward (you should pull first)
remote: error: hook declined to update refs/heads/master
To ssh://aur.archlinux.org/rusk.git
! [remote rejected] master -> master (hook declined)
error: failed to push some refs to 'ssh://aur.archlinux.org/rusk.git'

What you did wrong is force push. AUR doesn't allow that.

I think the confusion comes from https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Packag … it_history
Note that "Package Maintainer" doesn't refer to the maintainer of an AUR package.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Package_Maintainers
If you need rewrite history on your package, submit a request on the aur-general mailing list, or reach out to a PM directly.

If you need to redact any private information feel free to let a moderator know and we can sort it out, you can't force push.
