Hey so I have a new fresh install of Arch and I have both Wayland and X11 environment setup. I'm on plasma. as far as I understand with what is happening anyway, I might be mistaken on what I've actually done here..
I'm missing all the options and controls in nvidia-settings. No multi monitor control, no power options, no graphics options. Just whether I want to edit the X server window panel itself ifkwim
So on mint I had the same issue and had to disable secure boot, so that is already done. Fast boot is disabled as well. Obviously not working here in this case.
My system is a 9700k and 5080. And from what I can tell it might be using render offload mode or something and is showing using llvmpipe in my system info.
I have 3 monitors and want to play games so if anyone can help that would be hugely appreciated. I'm here to provide any and all info you may need to help me out here, I just don't ~know~ what to provide you with from the get go so I apologize for that. First forum post on any linux distro forum so I don't know what y'all would even need to help me. Thanks for reading anyway in the mean time, cheers
To give you more info I would need a command to get said info in the first place, if you're going to ask for more info, which you would need to help me, I understand that part. I would first need someone to point me in the right direction please

nvidia-settings is an X app first and foremost and the majority of options will not work on Wayland, so far so normal, use KDE's system settings to control screens in a wayland session.
All the other issues are more concerning. A blackwell card only works with nvidia-open, are you using that? What's your output of
pacman -Qs 'nvidia|kernel'
sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.stLast edited by V1del (2025-08-21 23:58:33)

Install nvidia-open, say yes to the replacement of the conflict with nvidia, potentially install lib32-nvidia-utils while you're at it if you intend to use steam, reboot.
Generally speaking see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA#Installation
