Kden playback ratio broken

I recently installed Kdenlive after failing miserably with DaVinci on hyprland but for some reason whenever I play a video with a phone aspect ratio and then one with a computer ratio, it stays as phone ration with black space at the top & bottom making it very small https://imgur.com/a/ZyqumpB
