Terratec phase 88

Hi,
I have a terratec phase 88 PCI (ice1712 chipset). Been trying for some time, but i cant get it to work under linux. However, Studio to Go! lists it as supported by alsa drivers, and there are some code for detecting it in alsa source. My problem is I know nothing about alsa, so I dont know where to begin. Anyone got any ideas?
