Hi!

Is there some package i could install that adds more gtk styles other than raleigh and qt in the kcontrol module?

Also, for some weird reason, I have 2 entries listed on the kcontrol sidebar for Gtk styles and fonts....

Thx in advance!

gtk-qt-engine is an engine for gtk that applies qt themes to gtk programs smile So you can add new Qt themes to GTK programs if you want.

And everyone has the same problem with the 2 icons in there smile

Re: How to Install Clearlooks Theme in Gtk-Qt-Engine [Solved]

You can't. Maybe if you install KlearLook QtCurve theme and use that in GTK-Qt-Engine it will look like Clearlooks, otherwise, you can't tongue
I don't know why you'd want that, isn't it better to have all applications have the same style?

Here's KlearLook link: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=31717

Hmm... that's strange.. i remember in FC5 i can switch to clearlooks theme among others frmo the menu. I really like the clearlooks blue scrollbar. Currently all my gtk apps including xchat looks ugly.

Thanks in advance!

http://gtk-qt.ecs.soton.ac.uk/index.php

I presume that's the homepage of the plugin and it clearly shows the option to choose clearlooks in the menu.

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!

IIRC, any of the GTK2 themes you install will show up in that menu, but only some of them actually work.  At this point, I use qtcurve, and have for quite a while, so it's been a while since I looked at that much, but as far as I remember clearlooks should work just fine.  Have you installed clearlooks?

Re: How to Install Clearlooks Theme in Gtk-Qt-Engine [Solved]

[merlin@ArchLinux ~]$ pacman -Ss clearlooks
community/clearlooks 0.6.2-4
An attractive gtk engine with a focus on usability.
community/gtk-rezlooks-engine 0.6-8
Clean looking gtk theme engine based on the cairo-enabled CVS clearlooks
    engine code.

It's that easy big_smile

Re: How to Install Clearlooks Theme in Gtk-Qt-Engine [Solved]

Ah ok thx!

After installing, I do have added entries in the menu i.e clearlooks, clearlooks-deep-sky, Crux etc. but none of them gives the blue scroll bar as in the site above. Previously, selecting clearlooks works. Now, it just gives me some plain white scrollbar.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Re: How to Install Clearlooks Theme in Gtk-Qt-Engine [Solved]

Thats because clearlooks has a white scroll bar.  Fedora 5 I believe uses murinne engine, not clearlooks.  It's in [community], try that one.

Re: How to Install Clearlooks Theme in Gtk-Qt-Engine [Solved]

Yep, I'm sure.

pacman -Ss murrine

community/gtk-engine-murrine 0.31-1
GTK2 engine to make your desktop look like a 'murrina', an italian word meaning the art glass works done by Venicians
    glass blowers.
community/murrine-configurator 0.4.1-2
    Configurator for Murrine GTK Engine

Not trying to be rude, but you should probably read http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pacman to get familiar with pacman and what all you can do with it.  ('man pacman' helps too)  The web search doesn't check [community], you need to use the AUR search for that.  I find it easier to do the search with pacman first, then if I can't find it to go to the web searches.

How strange! Any idea, what the reason for this behaviour could be? I ask, because this problem did not appear in the Kubuntu Edgy 6.10 installation, which I tried before Arch, and I also did not have such a double entry when using Gentoo, so I assume it has to be an Arch specific problem.
