OpenOffice 2.0.4-1 Woes

Hi guys and gals,

First off, let me say I am really digging Arch.  Having played around with a number of distributions, I think I have found the perfect one for me.  So congrats on all the hard work!  On to my issue at hand though.

I'm currently having some strange difficulties with OpenOffice.  As you can see, no text is displayed.  And while I can click through the license agreement, there will remain no text in the menu bars or anything else, though the icons will be there:

Ironically, when I run this as root I do get text showing up.  I've looked through the forums about similar issues, and have checked my .openoffice.org2 folder, and the permissions are correct.  I've also deleted it and attempted to run the setup again, ending with the same results.

Any help would be kindly appreciated, thanks!

I'm not sure what font openoffice uses by default, but maybe that font only has root permissions, try running openoffice via command line and see if it outputs any specific font errors, then check the font for right permissions
