Trouble loading a Windows VST into Reaper DAW with Wine and Yabridge

I am stumped trying to load a Windows-based VST, AmpliTube 5, through wine-staging and Yabridge, into Reaper DAW (native) on Arch Linux.

I installed the latest versions of reaper, wine-staging, winetricks, yabridge, and yabridgectl using pacman and/or yay.  Not sure if this is relevant, but I have Pipewire handling my audio.

I downloaded IK Product Manager and AmpliTube 5 from IK Multimedia's website, installed them in my virtual C drive using Wine, and authorized my install.

I set up yabridge so that "yabridgectl status" prints:

yabridge path: <auto>
VST2 location: '/home/me/.vst/yabridge'
VST3 location: '/home/me/.vst3/yabridge'
CLAP location: '/home/me/.clap/yabridge'

libyabridge-chainloader-vst2.so: '/usr/lib/libyabridge-chainloader-vst2.so' (64-bit)
libyabridge-chainloader-vst3.so: '/usr/lib/libyabridge-chainloader-vst3.so' (64-bit)
libyabridge-chainloader-clap.so: '/usr/lib/libyabridge-chainloader-clap.so' (64-bit)

yabridge-host.exe: '/usr/bin/yabridge-host.exe'
yabridge-host-32.exe: '/usr/bin/yabridge-host-32.exe'

/home/me/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Common Files/VST3/
  AmpliTube 5.vst3 :: VST3, bundle, 64-bit, synced

/home/me/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/VstPlugIns/
  AmpliTube 5.dll :: VST2, 64-bit, synced

As you can see, yabridge is pointed toward the Wine prefix containing my VSTs.
But  "yabridgectl sync" prints:

Setting up VST2, VST3, and CLAP plugins using:
- /usr/lib/libyabridge-chainloader-vst2.so
- /usr/lib/libyabridge-chainloader-vst3.so
- /usr/lib/libyabridge-chainloader-clap.so

Finished setting up 2 plugins (0 new), skipped 0 non-plugin .dll files

Warning: Could not run 'yabridge-host.exe'. Wine reported the following error:

    <no_output>

    Make sure that you have downloaded the correct version of yabridge for your
    distro.
    This can also happen when using a version of Wine that's not compatible with
    this version of yabridge, in which case you'll need to upgrade Wine.
    Your current Wine version is '7.19 (Staging)'. See the link below for
    instructions on how to upgrade your installation of Wine.

So clearly something isn't working here, but Wine has nothing to say about it.
Initially I had this issue with the current version of wine-staging, 9.22-1, but I've downgraded a few times (as suggested here) and that hasn't changed it.

But just in case it could still work...

I directed REAPER toward all my VST folders.

VST plug-in paths:
~/.vst;
~/.vst3;
/home/me/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/VstPlugIns/;
/home/me/.vst/yabridge/;
/home/me/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Common Files/VST3/

But still AmpliTube 5 does not show up in my FX plugins.

TL;DR
As far as I can tell, I have everything installed in the right place and all my software pointed to the right directories, but still Reaper won't acknowledge my VSTs running through wine-staging and yabridge.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same issue. Tried reinstalling reaper, yabridge, removed the plug in location from yabridgectl and added it back in... I'm still stumped.

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=306803 also deals with VSTs and may give you some ideas.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
