Variety Hyprland stopped working

I've been using the Variety Wallpaper Changer along with Hyprland for several months with no issues. Until now. Variety stopped working this morning, and I get the error : WARNING: 2025-08-30 08:54:06,041: create_menu() 'Variety Slideshow is not installed. This is an optional extension adding pan-and-zoom slideshows to Variety: see https://github.com/peterlevi/variety-slideshow for details'.

I had a look at the github page mentioned, but it looks quite old. variety-slideshow isn't available in the AUR. Has anyone else had this problem?
