Hi, it's my first post here, apologies if I’m not following the proper format.. ![]()
I’m on Arch (GNOME 48.4 on Wayland, Mesa 25.2.1) running Bitwig Studio via Flatpak, and occasionally, without any sign, gnome crashes to black screen while using Bitwig. Later on, the session auto restarts, but launching Bitwig seems impossible, as it's "already running" according to journal.
Looking further into the journal, it says Mutter hits a pointer-constraint error:
gnome-shell[4816]: libmutter:ERROR:../mutter/src/wayland/meta-wayland-pointer-constraints.c:565:meta_wayland_pointer_constraint_deactivate: code should not be reached
gnome-shell[4816]: Bail out! libmutter:ERROR:../mutter/src/wayland/meta-wayland-pointer-constraints.c:565:meta_wayland_pointer_constraint_deactivate: code should not be reached
And this eventually leads to a core dump. I'm not sure what are the causes to this problem, but as far as I'm concerned everything running on XWayland does not get along with a wayland compositor. Has anyone encountered this before or found a workaround? Thanks!
Here's the core dump log: file
