SOLVEDKDE Plasma 6 Mouse highlighting of text and sensitivity problems

Hi All,

is anyone else having problems with Plasma 6, both Wayland and x86, with their mouse? Logitech mouse with no problems in early versions, but now it's getting unusable. I  cannot reproducibly highlight text (for cut or paste, or in spreadsheets etc), and probably related the mouse is incredibly sensitive so I get often get double clicks when I only do one. The problem extends to window behaviour where I am having trouble moving windows (mouse seems to lose focus on the window), or I get maximised windows, when I just want  to make it active.  I'm beginning to think it's a hardware problem with my mouse, since no one else is reporting similar things.  I'm not sure how to problem solve this, hence my forum post.

Any constructive replies are greatly received. Ty.

Sounds hardware problem with your mouse. Technically, potentially https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=308019 -- but that really only affects scrolling and not the general sensor and it "bleeding over to Windows" is basically a giveaway that it's at a lower level -- i.e. HW or firmware

Assuming it's not that dire, did recently potentially some firmware update run on windows for the logitech software that might have changed some values that get persisted to the mouse? In which case you should be able to adjust those from said same software. Which mouse exactly? For some lower level control on logitech stuff there's libratbag and piper which you could give a shot with: https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/any/piper/

Thanks for the reply V1del. I guess you're confirming my hardware suspicions ... should have swapped out earlier to test, but was fixated on the Plasma rollout. I'll report back ...

Check your rodent on a completely different SW stack (live distro like grml) - if you get the same problems there, fetch a bucket …
