I updated the kernel and kernel-headers this morning. After the update, I was able to get a login prompt (sddm), but then i got a blank screen. I tried reinstalling nvidia-dkms, but that did not resolve the issue. Downgraded the kernel to 6.16.3 and everything was working again. Video card is NVIDIA Quadro M1000M, using nvidia-dkms-580.76.05-4.

Why are you using the dkms package w/ the vanilla kernel? Does https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/nvidia/ work?

According to my notes, I used nvidia-dkms to fix an issue with Lutris. I was originally using nvidia. I can try switching back to see if that helps.

Please post your Xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General
Do you try to log into an X11 or wayland session from there?
Please post your complete system journal for the boot:
sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.stOffline
While doing some fiddling, I appear to have broke my /boot filesystem. I'm going to just rebuild it. I did switch back to the Nvidia driver and had the same issue. I was using Wayland. I couldn't get the boot log because I was unable to switch to a terminal after logging in. If I run into this issue again after I rebuild, I will post again and include the Xorg log. Thanks for your time.

After rebuilding, I got the same problem. I added the lts kernel, and that resolved it. Then I saw a non-lts kernel update, so I updated to 6.16.5. That resolved the issue.

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
