Hello,
I just want to share and summarize issue with grub2 and edk2-ovmf incompatibility as it isn't fixed over 3 months and it was harder than usual to find any useful information.
Running Arch amd64 as KVM hypervisor and rhel derivatives as VMs.
After upgrade from edk2-ovmf-202411-1 to latest, almalinux VMs stopped booting up.
Grub2 started, but when kernel was loaded, it instantly froze. Just a line with a kernel name was printed out, sometimes not even that.
I was able to boot with older kernel (5.14.0-284.11.1.el9_2.x86_64 - redhat 9.2), but latest didn't worked (5.14.0-570.39.1.el9_6.x86_64 - redhat 9.6).
What else I tried and didn't work: Almalinux 10 DVD and RedHat CoreOS (openshift 4.18)
What works: RedHat CoreOS (openshift 4.18) installed in BIOS mode, not UEFI.
FIX - downgrade: pacman -U https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/ … kg.tar.zst VM stared as ussual.

As per forum posts, bug is not in edk2-ovmf but in some grub patch.
PS: I was postponing arch upgrade for a long time to avoid problems, which eventually happened as they always do
