[SOLVED] extra-staging?

I want to install the cuda package.

https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/cuda/

It is flagged as outdated and a package updated around a week ago is in extra-staging. The update is for compatibility with another package which I already have installed for a different purpose.

https://archlinux.org/packages/extra-st … 6_64/cuda/

According to the Wiki, extra-staging was merged into extra.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Arch_L … GitLab_era

The only description I found was in the developer wiki, which is clearly not for me at present. Does this mean tough shit, have to wait?

Re: [SOLVED] extra-staging?

No it was "[community]" that was merged into "[extra]", please don't use staging (ever) as staging is not the newest of the newest, it's where upgrades are prepared so that they work in the subsequent repositories. See https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Offici … positories

Re: [SOLVED] extra-staging?

Thank you, I misread that sentence in the wiki about the 'gilab era'

As mentioned, it is clearly not for me at present and therefore not something I'd do.

So it does mean: 'wait'. (or rather in my case, use the Windows VM for now) EDIT: I could just convert my arch install as a VM to do things I'm not supposed to smile
