I just updated to libreoffice-fresh 25.8.1-1. Now, when I start it, the Libreoffce splash screen appears, then the app quits, immediately.
I have followed the directions in the Libreoffice wiki to test the problem by creating a fresh profile by moving the user directroy to user-old. A fully reset user directory is then created, but that does not fix the problem. I do not have any extensions or other customizations, I just run vanilla Libreoffice Fresh.
My prior version of Libreoffice Fresh ran just fine. I can run the latest version in safe-mode, but I shouldn't have to do that all of the time.

One of the safe-mode dialog possible changes was to disable OpenCL. When I did that, Libreoffice now starts and runs, normally.
Does that just prevent Libreoffice from using OpenCL, or did it disable OpenCL systemwide? I need OpenCL for my darktable photo editing application.

Doesn’t happen here. Both libreoffice-still (25.2.5-2) and libreoffice-fresh (25.8.1-1) start fine. So I can’t help with that part.
Disabling OpenCL in LibreOffice only affects LibreOffice. To my knowledge it’s the same option as in Tools → Options → LibreOffice → OpenCL, “Allow use of OpenCL”.

Hmmm. My OpenCl seems to be messed up now, though. With Libreoffice not running and darktable running, I am getting this:

Until this evening, Libreoffice worked fine with OpenCl enabled, and OpenCL worked fine for darktable.

So this likely happened w/ the 580.82.07-1 update
Platform Version OpenCL 3.0 CUDA 13.0.84but cuda in the extra repo is 12.9.1-2 - 13.0.0-1 is only in the staging repo (do NOT enable the staging repo!!!)
I suspect this will fix once CUDA 13 moves out of staging?

The problems became moot when I ran another -Syu this evening. libreoffice-fresh was updated, again, and opencl-mesa was also updated. Now, bith libreoffice and darktable are running perfectly, again.

I have the same issue since an update today which included NVIDIA driver updates. There are no more updates available. There's only the following unspecific error message after a short splash of the splash screen:
pci id for fd 26: 10de:2882, driver (null)
pci id for fd 27: 10de:2882, driver (null)
Unspecified Application ErrorI'm also able to start libreoffice in safe-mode or with OpenCL disabled. Other applications, which rely on OpenCL as for example. Darktable, run fine.
I'm running a Wayland session (Sway).

clinfo?
nvidia was just updated to 580.82.09-1 from 580.82.07-3, what if you downgrade them?
Just to be sure: you rebooted after the update and are not just running a newer nvidia userspace against the older kernel module?

Mesa issue.
Should™ be harmless noise.
