Audio output does not switch after connecting headphones while playing

Hello

I have Arch with Gnome installed on Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i 15IRH10 laptop, my system is fully updated.

Steps to reproduce:
1. play a video with internet browser or video player
2. while the video plays, connect headphones to p2 port of the laptop

Result: the speakers are muted, but the audio output does not switch to headphones

The journal log prints these messages after connecting or disconnecting the headphones:

set 21 11:34:06 arch-laptop2 gsd-media-keys[1649]: Unable to get default sink
set 21 11:34:06 arch-laptop2 gsd-media-keys[1649]: Unable to get default source

My system switches the audio output as expected if the headphones are connected while nothing is playing.

Any idea on how solve this?
