[SOLVED] Images in Fractal broken on gnome 49

Since the gnome 49 update all images (avatar, channel images, image messages) are not loading with the following error:

2025-09-23T08:18:20.806932Z  WARN fractal::utils::media::image::queue: Could not load image from file: No image loaders are configured. You might need to install a package like glycin-loaders.
Used config: Config {
    image_loader: {},
    image_editor: {},
}

The flatpak version works fine, so this seems some package build issue.

Re: [SOLVED] Images in Fractal broken on gnome 49

I've encountered a similar issue today, but without any visible errors while booting or logging in.

For me there are some AppArmor profiles which are "fighting against" bubblewrap (/usr/bin/bwrap). After trying to adjust my AppArmor profiles I ended up with the same situation you described.
With AppArmor being disabled and after reboot everything is fine again.. except that AppArmor is not running.

But I have no clue what's causing this..

Only errors I've received after launching an application (with AppArmor running):

(virt-manager:5268): Gtk-WARNING **: 12:06:03.936: Could not load a pixbuf from icon theme.
This may indicate that pixbuf loaders or the mime database could not be found.

Re: [SOLVED] Images in Fractal broken on gnome 49

Installing the glycin1 package fixes the issue.
