Hi
I have a special situation with 5 4k monitors. gnome wayland can only handle 4.
is there a version of gnome 49, which is compiled with X11 possibly in the AUR.
I like gnome and I prefer not to switch to plasma or cancel one of my monitors.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Arch_build_system but you'll hit a brick wall w/ v50 in a couple of months
gnome wayland can only handle 4.
Is this an arbitrary restriction because gnome has decided that nobody uses more than 4 outputs or consequence of dysfunctional multi-GPU setup?
If the former, find a less **** DE. If the latter: look into that problem,

He answered your question, click the link. You have to build it yourself.

I was hoping for a binary link. If I need to compile, which package(s) I need. Is GDM and GNOME-SHELL enough. I know that by version 50 I will not be able to do that, but maybe then they will fix the issue with the monitors.

You can use this, you have to build it yourself, but it only takes a few minutes: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=308543
