Hi all,
since a week or two, I'm encountering issues displaying photos taken in portrait orientation. It's not connected to a special camera, but happens for smartphone photos as well as pictures from a Nikon and a Canon DSLR. I'm using the Xfce DE.
Ristretto: images are shown in correct orientation, but stretched to landscape format.
Viewnior: images are shown in correct aspect ratio, but rotated by 90° into landscape orientation.
Geeqie: images are displayed correctly.
All thumbnails in Thunar and in the Ristretto thumbnail bar are shown correctly.
Any ideas how to debug this? It might be a library update, because it started happening for Ristretto and Viewnior at the same time.
Downgrading libexif and libgphoto2 did not help, but it seems to be a bug how the EXIF orientation is read out/interpreted.

Hi, see https://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/ristretto/-/issues/145
It's an upstream bug: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gdk-pixbuf/-/issues/278

Thanks a lot! Downgrading gdk-pixbuf2 to version 2.42.12 solved the issue for now.
